In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #49 Baptism in Christ.
Baptism into Christ is a change of elements, a new burial in God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Baptism into Christ:
1 Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit we all are baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Galatians 3:27 For as many of you have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections (passions) and lusts.
Romans 6:3-6 Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection. Knowing this, that our man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Col. 2: 11-15 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses.; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them.
Ephesians 2:4-10 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith (because) he loved us. Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved:) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
