In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #40 Conviction.
Conviction is a change in the sense of guilt, a new awakening before God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Conviction:
John 8:9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
John 16: 7, 8, 13 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, Iwill send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness, and of judgment…When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Acts 18:28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
1 Cor. 14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is judged of all:
