In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #10 Forgiveness.
Forgiveness is a change of judgment, a new pardon by God.
Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:
Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
1 John 17=9 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remissions of sins.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even, I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
CONCLUSION
Forgiveness is a change of judgment, a new pardon by God. In Isaiah 43:25 God shows us the divine type of forgiveness. And God can change his judgment as demonstrated when the people of Nineveh prayed and repented of their evil ways.
God did not destroy the city. It is never too late to repent and gain God’s favor.
