In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #35 Gentleness.
Gentleness is a change of manner, a new behavior before God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Gentleness:
Galatians 5:22, 23 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.
1 Thes. 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
2 Timothy 2:24, 25 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle to all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves…
Titus 3:2 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality (favoritism) and without hypocrisy.
CONCLUSION
Gentleness is a change of manner, a new behavior before God. It involves being kind, caring, and sensitive to others’ feelings and not being overly critical and judgmental.
