In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #30 Humility.

Humility is a change of spirit, a new temperament with God.

The following are some scripture verses associated with Humility:

Matthew 18: 1-4   At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him. And set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Acts 20:19   Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

Colossians 3: 5, 6, 10   Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanliness, inordinate (unnatural) affection, evil concupiscence (desire) which brings God’s wrath. And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.

1 Peter 5:5, 6   Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility; for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

James 4: 6-10    But he giveth more grace, wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

CONCLUSION

Humility is a change of spirit, a new temperament with God. It involves respecting God for all that he is and respecting your brothers in Christ also, not being judgmental.
