In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #34 Longsuffering.
Longsuffering is a change of forbearance, a new endurance before God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Longsuffering:
Galatians 5:22, 23 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.
2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy.
Romans 5: 1-5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom we also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
CONCLUSION
Longsuffering is a change of forbearance, a new endurance before God. And as good soldiers of Christ, we are to endure. And having endured all, we will be saved and have the hope of glory.
