In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #43 Soundness.
Soundness is a change in condition, a new perfection in God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Soundness:
Prov. 8:14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
Prov.14:30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh, but envy the rottenness of the bones.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.
1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind (homosexuals), for menstealers (kidnappers), for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers (opposition)
Titus 1: 13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith:
Titus 2:1-8 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children.
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
CONCLUSION
Soundness is a change in condition, a new perfection in God. We should practice those things that would draw us closer to God.
