In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #59 Mercy
Mercy is a change of heart, a new disposition in God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Mercy:
Mat. 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Romans 12: 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy Rejoiceth against judgment.
Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Phil 2:1, 2 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any bowels and mercies, fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Colossians 3:12 Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
CONCLUSION
Mercy is a change of heart, a new disposition in God. We should be merciful to others as God has been merciful to us. It is a desirable characteristic that God looks for in us.
