In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #41 Remission.
Remission is a change of sentence, a new justification by God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Remission:
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission.
CONCLUSION
Remission is a change of sentence, a new justification by God. Herein lies the power of Jesus’ blood, the blood of the sinless lamb which needed to be shed so our sins would be forgiven.
Have you ever acknowledged the power of the blood of Jesus Christ? It is the shedding of his blood that enabled you to escape perdition.
