In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #37 Meekness.
Meekness is a change of disposition, a new humility before God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Meekness:
Galatians 5:22, 23 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law.
Numbers 12: 3 (Now the man Moses was very meek (humble), above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Psalm 76:9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.
Psalm 149:4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Ephesians 4:2 With all lowliness, and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Col. 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
1 Tim. 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Psalm 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, and the meek shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psalm 147: 6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
CONCLUSION
Meekness is a change of disposition, a new humility before God. The Lord will uplift the meek. They are blessed and shall inherit the earth and delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
