A YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- PROPITIATION

Book dictionary

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #7 Propitiation.

Propitiation is a change of clothing, a new covering of sins before God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

Romans 3:23- 25   For we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation (substitute) through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission (forgiveness) of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Romans 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

1 John 2:1`  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation (substitution) for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Psalm 32:1   Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Psalm 85:2   Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah

1 Peter 4:8   And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

CONCLUSION

Propitiation is a change of clothing, a new covering of sins before God, and Jesus Christ is our advocate with the Father.

Have you acknowledged your new clothing? Do you notice the difference?
