A YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- WASHING

washing hands

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #5 Washing.

Washing is a change of morals and becoming a new creature before God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

1 Cor. 6:9-11  …the unrighteous, fornicators, idolators, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you: but ye are washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Je, and by the Spirit of our God.

Ephesians 4:24   And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Ephesians 5:26   That he might sanctify (make holy) and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

Titus 3:5      Not by works of righteousness we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost (Spirit).

Revelation 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

Revelation 7:14   and I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Crucified Jesus)

John 15:3   Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Isaiah 1:16-18  Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD; though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

CONCLUSION

Washing is a change of morals and becoming a new creature before God. We are cleansed by the washing of the Word, and our sins will be as white as snow when they are covered by the precious blood of Jesus, the sinless Lamb.
