God loves you and doesn’t want to see you overwhelmed or anxious. Here are some promises He has made to you in His word. But you have to trust Him for these promises to be fulfilled. If you doubt God’s ability to do them, He won’t. James 1:7 says anyone that doubts should not expect anything from God.
- He promises rest for our souls- In Matthew 11:28-30 KJV Jesus says “Come unto me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek (humble) and lowly at heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
- He promises to guard our hearts and minds.
- He promises security and communion with Him.
- He promised His perfect peace [John 14:27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- He promises us a firm foundation.
- He promises victory over our troubles. [John 16:33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me, ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
- He promises to make a way [Isaiah 43:2, 19] (v2) When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walketh through the fire, thou ye shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (v19) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
- He promises to uphold us. [Isaiah 41:10] Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed: for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with thy right hand of my righteousness
- He promises never to leave us. [Deuteronomy 31:8] And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee; fear not, neither be dismayed.
- He promises to renew our strength. [Isaiah 40:31] But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Even born-again Christians have to deal with suppressing emotions and desires of the flesh, and it can not be accomplished without God. What are you struggling with?
