In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #29 Assurance.
Assurance is a change of security, a new covenant with God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Assurance:
Col. 2;2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father and of Christ.
1Thes. 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost. And in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Hebrews 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end.
Hebrews 10: 19-23 Having, therefore, brethren, boldness to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh. And having a high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised).
2 Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
2 Peter 1:4-8,10 Whereby are given unto us exceedingly great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And besides this, giving all diligence add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience (self-control) and to patience godliness. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure.; for if you do these things, ye shall never fall.
CONCLUSION
Assurance is a change of security, a new covenant with God. It involves a new and living way that Jesus has consecrated for us through his flesh.
