In the Bible God, both God the Father and Jesus refer to themselves as “I AM”. And Jesus says, “Pray to me for all that I am. Now just what does that mean? Here’s what God streamed to my spirit. God is referred to by many different names by many different religious groups and cultures. Herbert Lockyer’s book All the Divine names and Titles listed jn the Bible identifies approximately 160 names, and he didn’t have them all. There were more. But here is what God wrote on my heart about Himself and His many characteristics, and as I wrote them down I was blown away.
I AM your creator. I am the one who shaped you coincident with my second person (the Word) speaking you into existence.
I AM the only God.
I AM the Alpha and the Omega (the beginning and the end).
I AM in control of everything-Sovereign.
I AM mighty and can accomplish anything-Omnipotent.
I AM everywhere-Omniscient.
I AM the one who has Infinite Wisdom.
I AM love. .
I AM Holy.
I AM the one who sees all- El Roi.
I AM the one who holy and righteous- Jehovah Tsidkenu.
I AM all mighty God- El Shaddai.
I AM your healer- Jehovah Rapha.
I AM your provider-Jehovah Jireh.
I AM your peace- Jehovah Shalom.
I AM the one who provides forgiveness and mercy.
I AM the one who not only forgives you of your sins, but I remember them no more.
I AM a God of second, third, and fourth chances and more.
I AM the God who will give you the last second in your life to repent.
I AM the God who will hear your cries of repentance and heal your land
I AM the one who gives grace (unmerited favor) -God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.
I AM the one who brings down the proud and exalts the humble.
I AM the life force inside you. In Me you live, breathe and have your being.
I AM your living water.
I AM the bread of life.
I AM the one who conceived and implemented My plan of salvation for you.
I AM the only one who can save you from perdition.
I AM the one who has plans to prosper you, never harm you, and give you hope and a future.
I AM the one whose thoughts and ways are not only different from yours but also much higher.
I AM your vital necessity in life.
I AM the one who protects you.
I AM the one who encamps angels around you to protect you and watch over you.
I AM the one who helps you to rebuke the devil so he will flee from you.
I AM the one who will bless you and your future generations a thousand-fold if you submit to me and gain my favor by showing your love through your obedience.
I AM the one who wants your reverential and worshipful fear with awe.
I AM the one who established the law and made certain promises.
I AM also the one who gave you my grace which is higher than the law and has better promises.
I AM the one who put my second person Jesus Christ at the heart of my grace.
I AM the one who said, “To do something right, you have to do it yourself.” And that’s what I did.
I AM the one who gave you multiple promises, and you can trust me to fulfill them.
I AM the one who will go that extra mile to protect the integrity of My word, because I AM My word.
I AM the one who will not allow the devil to rejoice in Me not fulfilling my promises.
I AM not a man that I should lie, neither is the Son of man that he should repent.
I AM the one whose word is tried, tested, and true.
I AM the one you tested when you were in the wilderness for 40 years, and I passed the test.
I AM the one who will protect you from the fires of life so you will not be consumed.
I AM the one who has given you spiritual weapons to fight the devil.
I AM the one who has given you spiritual armor to put on that will protect you from the fiery darts of the evil one.
I AM the one who puts a horn of defense before you to protect you from the evil one.
I AM the one who gave man a help-mate.
I AM the one who can show people in relationships how to submit to one another.
I AM the only one who can change hearts. I will remove their hearts of stone and replace them with hearts of flesh. And then I will put my spirit in them, and they will know my commandments and do them.
I AM the one who raised Christ from the dead and by my power and I raised others like Lazarus.
I AM the one who will tell you, “You have to die to self before you can be resurrected.”
I AM a just God, and everyone will stand before me on Judgement day.
I AM the one who has established the name of Jesus higher than any other name.
I AM the one to whom you are ultimately accountable.
I AM quite capable of displaying my wrath, so do not knowingly and intentionally grieve me.
I AM able to kill the body and the soul, unlike others who can only kill the body.
I AM the one who can send you to a second death—the lake of fire.
I AM the one who turned Lot’s wife into a pillar of salt.
I AM the one who flooded the earth because I was disgusted with mankind.
I AM the one who brought down the walls of Jericho.
I AM the one who totally consumed Sodom and Gomorrah because of their wickedness.
I AM the one who gave you free will because I wanted your love for me to be expressed voluntarily.
I AM the one who gave you the right to rule the earth, but you handed it over to the devil.
I AM the one who loved you first.
I AM the one who gave you my supreme sacrifice—allowing my only begotten so to die on the cross for you.
I AM the only one who can give you everlasting life.
I AM the one who has loved you as I have my own son.
I AM the one who doesn’t want to lose you and will give you up until the last second of your life to repent.
I AM the one who will never leave you or forsake you.
I AM the one who wants to take your burdens. Lay them down at the foot of the cross.
I AM the one who has given you the ability to know Me.
I AM not a God that hides Himself. If you consider Me a vital necessity in your life and seek me with all your heart and you will find me.
I AM the one that will release you from that which has held you in bondage.
I AM the God that delivered you from bondage and led you to the Promise Land.
I AM the God that will give you rule of My house, charge of My courts, and access to My presence if you walk in My ways.
I AM the God who will make Myself fully known to you and real to you if you really love me.
I AM the one who will come and abide in you with my son Jesus if you really love us.
I AM the one who will give you a Sabbath day type of rest if you are obedient.
I AM the God with whom you can have a sweet, satisfying companionship, and I will show you My covenant and its deep inner meaning if you show me you have a fear of the Lord.
I AM the God you should want to be on your side when you go into battle.
I AM the one who can show you how to submit to your soul mate.
I AM the one who has given my God-breathed word to inspired faithful vessels who compiled it into My Operations Manual for your life which is the Bible.
I AM the God who brought you through any and all your past impossible situations you’ve been in and you knew the positive outcome was not and could not have been done by your doing.
I AM the one on whose shoulders you rested while you observed only one set of footprints in the sand.
I AM the one to whom you cry out when you have exhausted all your resources and there’s nowhere to go.
I AM the only one who should be judging others, not you. Everyone is accountable to me.
I AM the one who can impart to you one or more of the 9 Spiritual gifts if you believe in, rely on, and trust in Me.
I AM the one who gave you your calling in life.
I AM the one who put the desire in you to pursue the things you want to do that will please Me.
I AM the one who gives you the power to do all things.
I AM the one who gives you a new body and a new way of life when you cross the finish line
for he that endureth to the end will be saved.
I AM the God that always wants to take you to a better place. But you have to trust me.
I AM the God who will freeze you in time if you show me that you want to continue to look back on and dwell in the past or on the place that I want to take you from. That’s what I did to Lot’s wife. I turned her into a pillar of salt.
I AM the one who can not or should not be put in a box or limited, because there is nothing I can’t do. I have the ability to accomplish anything.
I AM the one who exists in three persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Collectively we are called the Godhead.
I AM the God who embraces time as you know it—the Past, the Present, and the Future.
I AM the only one who can forgive you of your sins and save you from perdition.
CONCLUSION
Before you offer up your petitions, praise God for all that He is.
