There are many people that believe in angels, and most of them believe they have wings. Some contend that they are heavenly beings and messengers from God that do His will, and others that say angels may be extraterrestrial beings. Well, I contend that angels are heavenly beings, some we can see and others who we can’t see because they exist in the spiritual world. And I strongly believe that the ones we can see do not have wings, but instead have Godly characteristics which God not only allows, but ones of which He would be very proud.
Furthermore, I can say unequivocally that God has blessed me by sending me two angels to watch over me, support me, and encourage me in the bodies of my two daughters Kamira and Dorie. The way they have stood by me have been no less than amazing. We have been through the best times and in the worst of times. Perhaps I should say we have endured some of the most challenging times. And they have grown up to be two outstanding women who are as smart, intelligent, and caring as they are beautiful. And they are beautiful.
I know I am in my twilight years, so I appreciate every second, minute, hour, and day that God blesses me with. And it motivates me to live life to the fullest and make sure that I tell my daughters that I love them every day. Because when I’m gone, it will be too late.
I always remember the movie Imitation of Life with Lana Turner where a young lady mistreated her mother very badly, and later in life when her mother died, she cried over her mother’s casket. But it was too late then for her to say she was sorry, repent, and try to reconcile. And I remember the movie starring James Stewart when he wished he wasn’t born, and an angel granted him his wish and he saw how different things would have been and how many lives he had touched. And that prevents me from ever saying I wish I had never been born.
I believe I have previously said that everything happens by divine design and there are no coincidences. I still believe that. I asked God to give me daughters and that is what He did. But He did much more. Coincident with fulfilling my requests, He also shared with me two of His angels. And I find a parallel with the life of Jesus.
Christ manifested himself in the body of Jesus born to two humans who raised him. However, when he was grown, during his 3-year ministry, he ministered to them. Well, in my case, I feel I helped raise my two daughters into womanhood, and now they are ministering to me. It’s a type of role reversal. But I’m good with it, and I am very pleased that they observed my word like it says in Psalm 119:17 Amplified version, they have observed God’s word—hear, receive, love, and obey it. They have paid attention and received what I taught them about God’s word and have become more spiritually mature.
But they also know that we all, especially me, are a work in progress and have not crossed the finish line yet. As it says in Matthew 24:13 he that endureth to the end will be saved. So, we all have to put ourselves in James 1:2-4 where we will welcome or count it all joy when we get trials and temptations, because it is an opportunity for us to prove our faith, and God will, if we allow Him full play, work on our steadfastness, endurance, and patience so in the end, we will become spiritually mature and complete.
Going through life’s experiences and challenges will be our baptism by fire so to speak. It will be like God putting us in His spiritual kiln in order to refine us, similar to a potter putting his greenware in the kiln (oven) to bake in the paint on his unfinished vessel (the greenware). And after putting more paint on the vessel, he keeps putting it back into the kiln to bake it some more. He does this over and over again until he produces the finish product.
In our case, God allows us to go through experiences, and if we treat each experience like a mini-seminar and learn something from each experience, we will gain skillful and Godly wisdom. And this will help us to accomplish God’s will according to His purpose and not return to Him void as it is written in Isaiah 55:11.
So, I would like to sincerely thank my two daughters for their love, support, encouragement, inspiration, motivation, caring, counsel, and chastening (tough love) when it was required. Thank you for accepting me with all my faults, because I am one who has fallen short of the glory of God. And I thank you for exhibiting the divine type of forgiveness like in Isaiah 43:25. The world says I forgive, but I won’t forget, but God says He will forgive and forget. Why? It’s because God knows holding grudges and clinging to past trespasses keeps you in bondage. And He will not allow Himself to be in bondage. And since He is our role model, we should not allow ourselves to be in bondage either.
So, thank you Kamira and Dorie for showing an agape (Godly) type of love in the way you live and the way you forgive. I am extremely proud of you and love you with all my heart. Please keep me in your hearts forever as I have you in mine.
CONCLUSION
Acknowledge and praise those who you love while you all are living. Once we are gone, it’s too late.
