YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- CRUCIFIXION

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #23 Crucifixion.

Crucifixion is a change of death, a new subjection to God.

The following are some scripture verses associated with Crucifixion.

Romans 6:3, 4, 7    ….so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, we also should walk in the newness of life. If we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Romans 6:14    For sin shall not have domination over you; for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 8:13   For if we live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Galatians 2:20   I am crucified with Christ.: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Galatians 5:24    And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections (passions) and lusts.

Galatians 6:14    But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

2 Corinthians 517  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Colossians 3:5-10   Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanliness, inordinate (unnatural) affection, evil concupiscence (desire), and covetousness, which is idolatry. For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not to one another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.

CONCLUSION

Crucifixion is a change of death, a new subjection to God. Believers will have died with Christ and look forward to being resurrected with him. They have literally put off the old man with its evil ways and put on the new man with its associated righteousness as they try to mirror their creator and new master Jesus Christ.

Have you fully put off the old man and put on the new man, or are you struggling?
