In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #14 Forbearance.

Forbearance is a change of attitude,  a new patience in God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

Ephesians 4:2   With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.

2 Timothy 2:24   And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.

Romans 5:1-4    Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into his grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also.; knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience, and experience hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.

Romans 15:4, 5   For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Colossians 3:13   Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another if any man has a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

James 1:3, 4    Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting (lacking) nothing.

CONCLUSION

Forbearance is a change in attitude, a new patience in God. Let patience have her perfect work in you so you will lack nothing. It will make you more spiritually mature and complete.

Are you willing to exercise patience when waiting on God?
