A YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- IMPUTATION

open bible

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #9 Imputation.

Imputation is a change of accounts, a new debt to God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

Romans 1:14   I am a debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

Romans 4:4-8   Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth (transfers) righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Romans 4:22-24   And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.

Galatians 3: 6,7, 13, 14   Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are children of Abraham. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law…that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

James 2:23   And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed (reckoned) unto him for righteousness; and he was called the Friend of God.

2 Cor. 5:17-19   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature old things are passed away behold, all things become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing (counting) their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

CONCLUSION

Imputation is a change of accounts, a new debt to God. God reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Do you realize that when you believe on him, it will be counted as righteousness in your account? And all who believe are children of Abraham. If led, you may comment below.
