YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- NEW BIRTH AND SONSHIP

sky nature

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #18 New Birth and Sonship.

New birth and Sonship is a new change in parents, a new Father in God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

Matthew 6:8, 9       Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

John 1:12     But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

John 3: 5, 6, 16    Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Galatians 4:5, 6      To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.

Hebrews 12:7     If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

1 John 3:1-3     Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1 John 5:1-5     Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also is begotten of him. By this, we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (burdensome). For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:18  We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is born of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one (Satan) toucheth him not.

CONCLUSION

New Birth and Sonship is a change of parents, a new Father in God. And if one is reborn in the Spirit, he is spirit. And as he stays close to God, the devil can not touch him. This person believes that Jesus is the Son of God and keeps God’s commandments. And as a co-heir with Christ, he has the power to be an overcomer and has the hope of glory.
