FORGIVENESS

two adults embrace forgiveness

Many times, people have trespassed against you and it has caused many feelings and emotions to stir up within you. Disappointment, anger, and hate may rage within you. But it is important to know that these feelings must be controlled, and when they are, it will benefit you more than the trespasser. You will understand this better when you see things through God’s eyes.

When you deal with people, remember you are dealing with imperfection. We all have fallen short from the glory of God and need forgiveness and mercy. Do not hold in any grudges but instead try to forgive as God does in Isaiah 43:25 KJV-I, even, I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. So, you see you do this more for yourself, because it will release you from bondage. If you hold onto the hurt, it will keep your focus in the wrong place, and instead of seeing where God wants to take you which will be a better place, you will be focusing on the past and you won’t go forward.

Secondly, we should forgive others as God has forgiven us. You will be forgiven to the measure that you forgive others. Unforgiveness can block your prayers from being answered. If you want your prayers answered, it would behoove you to search your mind as far back as you can and forgive anyone whom you hadn’t forgiven. Remember God’s divine type of forgiveness in which he forgets after he forgives. You see, God is not like us and does not offer lip service and act insincerely. Numbers 23:19 says God is not a man that he should lie, nor the Son of man that he should repent. And lastly, be able to forgive yourself. Don’t beat yourself up. God forgave you, so you should be able to forgive yourself.

We have an amazing God. In John 17:23b KJV Jesus while praying in the Garden of Gethsemane said …and that the world may know that thou has sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Just sit back and meditate on that one. God has loved us as He loved His only begotten son. God has conceived of and implemented the Plan of Salvation so that our sinful slate could be wiped clean. We could once again stand before him, escape perdition, be in His family, and live with and praise Him forever in His eternal kingdom. We are truly blessed.

So, continue to grow in grace, gaining pearls of wisdom from life’s many seminars along the way, so you can gain skillful and Godly wisdom. I encourage you to incorporate divine forgiveness in your life and see what difference it makes in your life. After you do, feel free to share your experience with us.

CONCLUSION

Forgiveness is very important. You should forgive others as God has forgiven you. Failure to forgive can not only block your prayers from being answered, but can also keep you in bondage. We should all practice the divine type of forgiveness which is both forgive and forget like God the Father illustrates in Isaiah 43:25. Finally, be able to forgive yourself like the Father already has.
