A YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- GRACE

saving grace god cross

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #8 Grace.

Grace is a change of favor, a new standing before God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

John 1:16, 17   And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1, 2    Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Ephesians 2:4-9   But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love because he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 2:11-14    For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar (special) people, zealous of good works.

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

CONCLUSION

Grace is a change of favor, a new standing before God. It is God’s unmerited favor, something that we did not deserve and something that we can’t earn.
