YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- RESTITUTION

study bible on table

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #24 Restitution.

Restitution is a change of dealings, a new honesty before God.

The following are some scripture verses associated with Restitution:

Lev. 6:4. 5   Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found. Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.

Lev. 24:21   And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he hath killeth a man, he shall be put to death.

Prov. 6:31   But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.

Luke 3:8   Bring forth, therefore, fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Luke 19:8   And Zacchaeus stood and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

CONCLUSION

Restitution is a change of dealings, a new honesty before God. We should be willing to restore anything we have deceitfully taken from another.
