In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #28 Consecration.
Consecration is a change of devotion, a new offering to God.
The following are some scripture verses associated with Consecration:
Romans 12:1,2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but ye be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2 Cor. 8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
1 Timothy 4:13-15 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of hands of the presbytery (elders). Meditate upon these things, give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
Hebrews 13:15 By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
CONCLUSION
Consecration is a change of devotion, a new offering to God. It involves a renewing of the mind which does not conform itself to the world.
Have you changed your devotion? Are you presenting a new offering to God? If you are led, please comment below.
