YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- PRAYER

rejoice man

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #20 Prayer.

Prayer is a change of communication, a new approach to God.

The following are some scripture verses associated with Prayer.

Matthew 6:9    After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Matthew 7:7-11   Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son asks for bread will give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Matthew 21:22   And all things, whatsoever ye shall in ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Mark 11:22-24   And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, this mountain, Be thou removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

John 14: 12-15    Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whosoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:7   If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

John 15:16    You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

John 16:23-26    … Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give to you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you.

Hebrews 11: 6     But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

1 John 3:22    And so whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

1 John 5: 14-16    And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. If any man sees his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

CONCLUSION

Prayer is a change of communication, a new approach to God.  It is important to pray believing and do not doubt. If you doubt, you should not expect anything from God (James 1:7) In fact, you should pray expecting and see in the spirit that you have already received what you are praying for. Also, we should pray in Jesus’ name, and what we pray for we will receive to glorify the Father. The sin that we should not pray for is the sin that leads to death (the unpardonable sin) which is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31) and (Luke 12:10).

Do you pray without doubting? Do you see in the spirit the outcome for that which you are praying for? Do you trust in God enough to thank Him in advance for your prayers of petition? Feel free to comment below?
