YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- REPRESENTATION

smiling laughing woman

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #17 Representation.

Representation is a new agency, a new representative before God.

Some of the associated scriptures are as follows:

Romans 8:26, 27, 34    Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which can not be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Who is he that condemneth? Is it Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us?

1 Timothy 2:5   For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 2:18    For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 4:14-16    Seeing that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities (weaknesses); but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 5:5-10   So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee. As he saith in another place, Though art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; thou he was a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 7:24-28   But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this, he did once, when he offered up himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated forevermore.

Hebrew 9:14-17, 24    How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause, he is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is there must also of necessity be the death of the testator (maker of will). For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise, it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures (representatives) of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.

CONCLUSION

Representation is a change of agency, a new representative before God. Jesus, having suffered for us and tempted in every way, was able to be the best high priest for us interceding for us at the right hand of God the Father. He also is the only qualified mediator between God and men. He represented the perfect and supreme sacrifice so that after his death there was no need to sacrifice animals anymore.

Do you appreciate that Jesus Christ represents your attorney in heaven who intercedes for you before God? If you are led, you may comment below.
