YEARLY STUDY OF SALVATION- RETRIBUTION

open bible

In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #25 Retribution.

Retribution is a change of vengeance, a new attitude before God.

The following are some scripture verses associated with Retribution:

Matthew 5:39   But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 7:12   Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Luke 6: 27, 28   But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luke 6:32, 35-38    For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? For sinners also love those that love them. But love ye your enemies, and do good. And lend, hoping for nothing again, and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not and ye shall not be judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal (measure anything), it shall be measured to you again.

Hebrews 10:30    For we know him that said, Vengeance belongeth unto me. I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

1 Cor. 6:9    Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

CONCLUSION

Retribution is a change of vengeance, a new attitude before God. We should love our enemies, be good to them, not condemn, forgive, and be merciful. With the same measure that we measure anything, we shall be measured. We should leave all judgment to God.
