In the book, God’s Plan for Man by Finis Jennings Dake salvation is characterized by mainly addressing sixty areas. I will attempt to discuss each of these areas. These areas were listed on this blog post on October 13, 2021. Today, I would like to discuss #22 Righteousness.

Righteousness is a change of acts, a new obedience to God.

The following are some scripture verses associated with Righteousness.

Romans 4: 3   Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Romans 4:9   …for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

Romans 4:13    For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Romans 6:20   When ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Romans 8:3, 4   For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Matthew 6:33    But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

1 John 2:29   If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1 Jon 3:7, 10    Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous….whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1 Corinthians 1:30    But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption;

Ephesians 4:24     And ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

CONCLUSION

Righteousness is a change of acts, a new obedience to God. When we become born again in the Spirit, we are the righteousness in Christ. We have put on the new man and also have obtained sanctification, redemption, and justification.
