When You Stand on God’s Word

When You Stand on God’s Word

You can never go wrong by standing on God’s Word. Not only is God love which is the most powerful force in the universe, but His word is also truth, justice, and the only way that leads to conviction, salvation, righteousness, and eternal life.

In Hebrews 4:15 and 16 it says because of what Jesus did for us, we now with confident assurance can boldly approach the throne of grace with our requests. To give you a personal example, I shall give you a personal testimony that occurred in the late 1990s. While in office in 1998, President Bill Clinton openly asked the people of the United States for their prayers. So, standing on God’s word, I felt compelled to respond to his request. I wrote him a letter to tell him I was praying for him. To my surprise, I received a nice letter from him telling me that he appreciated my praying for him. Even though I was only one person of 200 million people at that time, deep in my heart I felt that I made a difference in his life, no matter how slight.

Why do I mention this? Well, it’s because God through his Holy Spirit will always lead you to do the right thing. You never know how your actions might affect another person. In Proverbs 3:5 and 6 it says lean not on your own understanding, but in all things trust in the Lord and He will direct your path. And the reason that is true is found in Isaiah 55:8 and 9 which says that the ways and thoughts of the Lord are different than ours and higher than ours as the heavens are higher than the earth. Our finite minds can never match or equal the infinite mind and character of God.

I have enclosed President Bill Clinton’s response to me, and I hope it will motivate you and encourage you to trust in God implicitly and never doubt him for one second. He will never steer you wrong and always will lead you to the truth and a better way of life. And the truth will always set you free.
