We all have probably heard that “no” is a negative word. But that is not so in many cases. In fact, saying no has many benefits.

Author of several spiritual books, Kevin G. Harney from California explains why. He gives 9 reasons why saying “no” has positive benefits.

  1. No can add years to your life.
  2. No creates space, slows the pace, and saves pace.
  3. No can lead to joy after pain.
  4. God says no, so you can too.
  5. Jesus shows us how saying no protects our focus which enables us to make a positive decision.
  6. When God says no, there is a blessing in it.
  7. Saying no isn’t negative, it’s positive.
  8. Saying no is a yes to something better.
  9. You can find comfort, freedom, and peace in your faithful no.

  1. This is so true. When I was younger , often times you feel bad to say “no” to not hurt someone’s feelings, but learning to confident in saying “no” saves you from over extending yourself. Saying “no” does bring you peace and keeps your authenticity.
